Devlog #14: V2.3 - The QoL Reckoning
Hey there!
Over the past year and a half, work on Shardana: Hydro Trail GP taught us a lot about how to properly design these sorts of books. With that came also a slow change in our approach to the quantity and quality of lore a game of this kind actually needs.
As they had started from Shardana, these changes were applied to it first, then to Volga whenever we had time. Of course, we weren’t planning to formalize them a proper devlog or even up the game’s version - after all, it was just slight tweaks to syntax, text sizes and other fairly negligible stuff.
But over time they kept compounding, to include a change to the cover art’s proportions, the addition of more illustrations to the corebook’s lore** and a rework of the tournament rules, which now follow a less strict timing system based on the turn clock found in competitive chess.
That, while not changing the game for most people, does warrant a version up - so here it is!
I hope you enjoy the changes, however small they may be, and keep having a brawl of a time!
